Ladies and Gentlemen,
I did it. I killed my husband with the poison. In the tearoom.
Oh. And I had an affair with my date. Awkward?
Actually E.P.I.C is the word we'll use. Because that one about sums up last night.
It has been a marvelous week for me - I got hired to work for Alpine School District as a full time teacher, which was super duper exciting. I now have a salary and health insurance. Those are big grown up words that are excitingly intimidating and kinda cool when they apply to oneself. And then, to put icing on the cake, I went on an epic date last night with a Mr. Thomas.
The theme of the evening was murder. We all dressed up, and read our parts and laughed and laughed as we uncovered clues and tried to figure out who did it. Bear had way too much fun reminding us all that he was "successful" and loudly declaring that Christina was a floosy, I was the murderer, and that "marriage is not a crime!" Thomas managed to convince us all that he'd just been out cutting poisonous plants with his sword 'cause he happens to like botany, Taylor murdered her husband by pushing him out of a plane, and I killed my husband 'cause I wanted to keep the jewels.
Oh yes we had fun. And my date himself was wonderful. I hope it isn't too long before I get to see him again. Also, I hope to have another dinner party 1/2 that epic sometime in the future. Ash and I had a joyous time setting up for it. We learned how to fold napkins the same way they due in Buckingham Palace thanks to "Luigi! The maestro of napkin folding." You can see his marvelous video if you click HERE. And we created a shrine with candles to my deceased husband. Who wasn't really dead... but we didn't know that yet.
So yeah. If you are looking for a really fun evening, get a few outgoing friends together and do a murder. It's an evening to die for. (Now you should laugh, 'cause that cheesy pun was intended.)
Basically this page is just for a few of my ideas. Crumbs of tasty thoughts, feelings, or general news. Enjoy!

This weekend I'm alone.
My family took off for Idaho and the funeral of my Great Grandmother Lois. I have fond memories of writing her letters and visiting when I was younger, and oh how I wanted to go to Idaho to see my family and attend the service. However, I was fortunate enough to get a job interview, so I stayed home for that.(It went pretty well actually, I'm keeping my fingers crossed and would appreciate an extra prayer if you feel like sending it my way!)
Today was ILP day. ILP stands for "International Language Programs" and "I love pancakes" simultaneously. I met up with some of the girls from my China group and we stuffed ourselves full of breakfast-type foods at IHOP.We had a ball together, and then this evening I returned home to an empty house. A large, lonely, empty house. But actually, in a way it's nice to be alone. I've discovered that I'm more productive when I'm on my own.
To illustrate: post 7 pm I went grocery shopping, shoveled all our snow, organized the food I'll cook tomorrow after church for my family, cleaned the kitchen, and finished the laundry. Now I sit here and type as I rekindle my deep and abiding love for berry herbal tea.
And I'm proud to report that it's actually been a perfect sort of evening. I wouldn't want to spend every evening this way... but tonight: it was just right.

How I wish I could fill out a job application:
You want to hire me.
Really.
And if you do you won't regret it.
Also: I am qualified for this position. Just in case you needed to know that.

Announcement:
I have a new rice cooker!!! Courtesy of my fabulous Uncle David.
I am SOOO excited. I googled the location of the nearest Asian market this morning. Sticky rice and rice flour are the top two items on my shopping list.
Real rice to follow :) Who wants to join me?!
