22

So yesterday was my birthday. And I was spoiled. My Mom came and brought me lunch at work, my kids all behaved and sang me songs, and by the end of the day my desk was covered with flowers and balloons and cards. Which made me feel so happy :) The only downside was the trip taking the balloons and flowers out to the car, where the wind was trying to carry me and my belongings away - and as I fought that wind and I'm sure I presented a graceful image to the world as I whipped around trying to keep the balloons from tangling around me and the flowers as I spit hair out of my mouth.

After work my Grandparents took my Mom and I to dinner at PF Changs. The food was good - but I must confess that I didn't enjoy the rice -- I'm too much of a rice snob now... haha.

Later Taylor came over and we watched Captain America. Can I just say that he is awesome? He's probably my favorite Marvel hero, just in case you were dying to know that.

So yes. Now I'm 22 years young. Which seems to amaze everyone at work. Go me I guess :)

Fun Party!

Yesterday I had sort of a little birthday party with lots of fun and friends and cupcakes! We played 'Smurf' and 'Psychiatrist' and it turned out to be a very funny evening.

During Smurf a fellow was attempting to guess the verb "flirt" --- he asked me what the ramifications would be if I never ever 'smurfed' (flirted) again. I was at a loss for what to say, until my friend David jumped in and said, "I'd be really sad." Hehe

THEN. At one point we sent Dalon out of the room and all decided that we were going to answer his questions as if we were the person on our right. He came back in, and the first question he asked the person on my left was "What is wrong with you?"

I was very intrigued to hear that answer.

It was a good night full of laughs. My abs are sore today because of it. I've got such great friends!!

One year older and...

not really wiser. At least I don't feel any smarter.

But I do feel blessed. I am such a lucky girl! Friday I was just finishing up work when I started to walk back towards the school building. I saw two ladies coming out of the front doors, and when they saw me they started waving like crazy at me. I was really confused, wondering who those silly ladies were, until I got closer and realized that my Mom and Bee (my Grandma) had come up to surprise me and take me to a birthday lunch. We ate at Cafe Rio, went shopping, and had a marvelous time!

Afterwards I got to hang out with some girls from my major, walk around campus with my darling friend Sharlee who came up from Snow to visit me... and then come back to my apartment. When I walked in the door, about 15 friends or so all shouted 'happy birthday,' and Matt started serenading me with "Happy Birthday" on the bagpipes outside my window. It was the best surprise party I've ever had, and so much fun! Then on saturday I got to go to lunch again! Play with Sharlee and Dora, and then go to an Aggie basketball game. The game was intense, and so much fun! It's pretty much been the best weekend ever, and I feel so lucky to have so many fantastic friends and family who decided to make a fuss over me this weekend.
